I’ve been doing some work from home today in the form of shoe research (yes, seriously) and helping to inspire me and help my creative juices flow has been Osunlade’s new Pyrography album I bought off iTunes today.

I went to the album launch last month at Corsica Studios and the set was brilliant as usual. Osunlade is one of my favourite house DJs/producers, like, EVER, and me and my other super-fan friend Mercedes always go to see him play when he’s in town. We’re literally always the first ones at the door, awaiting eagerly with baited breath and waving meekly at him when we spot him in the smoking section.

He is literally the godfather of deep & soulful house music. You’ve probably heard his music and haven’t realised. I’ve liked him being our secret for about 4 years now, but I think it’s time to share…

My favourite tracks so far are I’m Happy, Walkin’ in Paris and Pheramones (playing now), but the best thing about Osunlade albums is that you can listen again and again and discover a new track – or even a small section of a track or beat  that you didn’t realise was even there. Slow releasing goodness. I’ve heard it’s his last house album but I really hope not as that would make me really sad.

His music reminds me of amazing holidays past and this album has got me really geared up for the summer despite the crappy weather outside.

Bring on Ibiza September 2011!!
